Here's what's new for 2021 in Desenzano's restaurant scene: the Santa team is happy to present the brand-new Santa Pizza Igloo, a special project designed for our pizzeria that has finally become reality — in time for the Christmas holidays we built a unique structure, a true gem of moraine-lake dining, in our large lakefront outdoor area.

The new pop-up restaurant, nicknamed by our followers “Santa Igloo” or "The Chapel", is this December 2021's new attraction at Santa Pizza: a modular, temporary space built for pizza and dining on the Desenzano del Garda waterfront. With a diameter of 5 meters, our dome can seat up to 6 tables — 12 people can now enjoy an aperitivo, lunch or dinner facing the lake, even during a snowfall. Bookings are open for the 2021 New Year's Eve dinner, and the Santa Igloo is already in high demand, especially among groups of friends and young couples looking for a romantic yet truly unique location on all of Lake Garda.

From now on, dining just steps from the lake will be possible even in winter, thanks to quality dining and, above all, thanks to Desenzano's most famous Gourmet Pizza, under the name Santa Pizza, the most visited spot during the 2020 summer season. We welcome the lakeside winter with this structure, designed specifically for the 2021 Christmas holidays, equipped with electric heating, parquet flooring and colored LED lights.

The Santa Igloo on the Desenzano del Garda waterfront joins the nativity scene in Piazza Malvezzi, the ice rink in Piazza Cappelletti, the video projections downtown and the Christmas markets. The decorations on Via Castello: wooden huts, Christmas trees just steps from our second location in Piazza Garibaldi, Santa's takeaway pizzeria, called Santina Delivery - Takeaway Pizza and home delivery. The perfect plan? Park in Piazza Garibaldi just steps from Santina, order a pizza to take away, pick a bench among the many decorations, and enjoy your slice while admiring the magical decorations: a bright, monumental heart-shaped installation, Santa Claus atop a snow-covered little house, all lit up with unmissable lights and colors.

Would you rather have mixed fried fish on the go? A portion of authentic olive ascolane or fries for the kids? Santa's restaurant is also takeaway — by downloading our app on Apple and Android you can order traditional dishes like fettuccine with meat ragù. Did you know that every week we cook the ragù the way grandma used to? A sauté of garlic, onion, celery and carrots, beef, pork, a good glass of red wine, and then cooking all day long together with a nice mix of tomato passata and peeled tomatoes, two bay leaves, salt and pepper to taste. This is the starting point for our best-selling dishes: bolognese lasagna and fettuccine with ragù!

Strolling through Desenzano del Garda in December has never been as romantic as this year: we recommend arriving in the early afternoon and parking in the free parking area near Desenzanino. Walking along the lake, 500 meters from the historic center, you'll find the Santa Igloo, where you can stop for an organic Lavazza coffee or a hot chocolate, book a table at our restaurant pizzeria, and after your Christmas shopping downtown, come back to find your table waiting to end the day with an aperitivo and a Santa Pizza.
